Nandi Hills remains the go to destination for bengalureans who desire a quick escape from routine and connect with nature. While the majority of thrill seekers would hurriedly hop on to their two/four wheel rides and drive up the hill, the truly adventurous ones would opt for the path less travelled.
This popular trail, boasting of 1175 steps lined with colorful wildflowers and winding though scattered tree cover, rocky outcrops and wilted undergrowth of lantana, leads you to the top of Nandi Hill. Depending on your fitness and time of day, expect the climb to take around 40 to 60 minutes. Although parts of the trek are shaded and the occasional cool breeze provides the much needed respite from the climb, it is recommend you start early to avoid the harsh sun beating on you as the day progresses. During certain early mornings, if luck is on your side, you may be graced with the delightful presence of a dense blanket of clouds accompanying you throughout the ascent to the summit.

Along the way, you encounter a few viewpoints that offer glimpses of the stunning vistas that await you. As you catch your breath and pause for a moment, you’re treated to panoramic views of the surrounding hills, valleys, and the sprawling city of Bangalore in the distance.
